For all of those that are coming from out of town there are plenty of things to do and places to eat close by, a few of which you can walk to. The DFW Lakes Hilton also provides complimentary shuttles to several.
Within walking distance, there is Grapevine Mills Mall, Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World (AKA The Pearly Gates), and Austin Ranch.
Grapevine Mills is a large factory outlet mall that has quite a few restaurants in and around it. To most guys I don't believe Outdoor World needs any introduction... Outdoor world ROCKS!! Austin Ranch is little ranch that you can go horseback riding and such.
Within a few miles is also such attractions as the Tarantula Train, The Mustangs at Las Colinas (This is where Aleen and I got engaged), Historic Downtown Grapevine. There is also endless entertainment in the Dallas Fort Worth area including some of the best movie theaters in the Country, go-kart racing at Speed Zone and games at Dave & Busters. There is also some great night life in both downtown Dallas at Deep Ellum & The West End and in Fort worth at Sundance Square & the Stockyards.
